Cassie Lang Actor Kathryn Newton Talks About Her Role In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania

Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins with the third installment in the Ant-Man franchise, titled Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania. The trailer for the film was recently released and revealed a lot.

The film will see the return of many beloved old characters such as Scott Lang played by Paul Rudd, Hope Van Dyne played by Evangeline Lilly, Hank Pym played by Michael Douglas and Jannet Van Dyne played by Michelle Pfeiffer.

But in addition to the old characters, the film will also introduce some new characters into the mix. First up is the film’s villain, Kang the Conquerer, played by Jonathan Majors, and second up is Scott’s daughter, Cassie Lang, played by Kathryn Newton.

Cassie is not technically a new character as she was present in all of the Ant-Man films with a brief cameo appearance in Avengers: Endgame, but in all of these films Cassie was played by a different actress as the films depicted her childhood.

Kathryn Newton plays Cassie in the latest installment. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actress opened up about what the film will entail for Cassie’s storyline. Here’s what the actress said:

“I’m really not perfect and I’m super impatient and I want to be a hero but I have no idea what I’m doing and I think Cassie Lang is like that. She’s just trying to figure out how to be a good person and you know they make a lot of mistakes. She’s a bit messy and so am I… You’ll definitely see some of that. But a good heart.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania hits theaters worldwide on February 17, ushering in Phase 5 of the Marvel Movies.

Stage 5’s big bad is Kang the Conqueror, and fans are excited for his introduction in the very first film.
