Asian Games 2023: Finland’s Olympic javelin champion Neeraj Chopra’s training proposal was approved Thursday ahead of his multiple World Athletics – Gold Level events in June. Follow Asian Games 2023 LIVE updates on InsideSport.IN

According to a press release from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Tokyo Olympic champion intends to train at the Kuortane Olympic Training Center in Finland during this time.

Chopra, who recently became the first Indian javelin thrower to reach the world No. 1 ranking, had followed a similar training schedule in 2022 as well.

Among other proposals, the Mission Olympic Cell also approved paddler Payas Jain’s proposal for an advanced training camp in Taiwan.

Veteran paddlers Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran’s suggestions to take personal coaches Aman Balgu and S Raman along for several events were also approved by the MOC.

While Manika and Aman Balgu will travel to WTT Contender, Zagreb and WTT Star Contender, Ljubljana, Sathiyan and Raman will travel to Tunis in addition to the above events.
Financial support covers air travel expenses, camp expenses, food and lodging expenses, medical insurance, and allowances, among other things.

MOC members also added rower Salman Khan to the TOPS development group. Salman, who belongs to the Mewat region of Haryana, had won gold at the Gujarat National Games last year.
